Member organisations of the Somalia NGO Consortium benefit from a range of services including information sharing and coordination, representation, advocacy, and safety/security information and preparedness training.
Information Sharing and Coordination
Provide a forum for and actively support members to promote dialogue, collaboration, learning experiences and information exchange, and in select cases undertake or facilitate research and analysis
Representation
Represent Consortium members in key coordination fora and with stakeholders including other NGOs, the UN system, donors and international institutions, and mechanisms at international, regional and national levels
Management
Manage Somalia NGO Consortium staff and oversee management of the NGO Safety Programme facilitating synergy with the Consortium objectives and the needs of its constituency
NGO Safety Programme
Oversee management of the NGO Safety Programme facilitating synergy with the Consortium objectives and the needs of its constituency. The NGO Safety Programme (NSP) contributes to local and international NGOs operating safely and securely in Somalia/Somaliland
Advocacy
Undertake advocacy initiatives, including raising public awareness, on behalf of the membership and facilitate advocacy initiatives of members
Additional Services
The Consortium furthermore offers a number of practical services – from visa application assistance to job vacancies to bulletin boards – benefitting its members on a day-to-day basis.
