Main Mission: |
APD
has set out to facilitate lasting impressions through a set of objectives
to achieve its mission:
- To improve livelihood of the pastoral communities through rehabilitation
of local productions hence reduce human suffering in times of emergencies
and vulnerabilities.
- Initiating development project in the areas for sustainable development
that also embraces sound environmental conservation and management,
hygiene and proper sanitation
- To empower capacity of the communities to manage their natural resources,
promoting environmentally friendly projects and revival/preservation
of indigenous fauna and flora.
- Improve the standard and quality of human life by alleviating of poverty
through equitable distribution of resources to the community.
- Conflict resolution and response by re-directing individual and collective
human energies and pastimes towards mutually productive engagements
that forestalls a culture of respect for life and human dignity as well
as universal human rights and peaceful coexistence in diversity.
- Creating awareness of HIV/AIDS transmissions and preventions by extending
primary healthcare services and quality education that transcends conventional
(traditional) pedagogue to incorporate life skills, knowledge and expertise
on among others HIV/AIDS and other STIs. |

APD plans
for various interventions in 2010 and these are among others:
1) Emergency and rehabilitation of basic infrastructure critical for
service delivery in water, education and health.
2) Food security and development of production sector to diversify and
support alternative sources of livelihoods.
3) Capacity building among community institutions that are important
for public administration and service deliver
4) Improvement of educational standards through increased access, retention
and promotion among the population of the Lower and Middle Jubba.
5) Literacy and skills development for women and other marginalised
groups including girls and minority groups in the community
